We have no pressure – Comoros Coach

Comoros coach, Amir Abdou

Ahead of the clash between Comoros and Cameroon clash counting for the 2019 Total AFCON qualifying match on Saturday September 8 in Moroni, Comoros coach, Amir Abdou says there is no pressure.

Speaking to Comorosfootball official website, the Comorian technician remains confident despite being aware of the difficulty. “It’s going to be a complicated match for us but we have no pressure. The goal is to be successful and play our football,” Amir Abdou told Comorosfootball.com.

Preferring to recall again the qualities and the winners of the opponent,Amir Abdou says surprise will come but they have to stay on a good momentum.

“There may be surprises but do not dream too much, we do not start favorites. What is certain is that we will give everything for this meeting. If we win, we will say that the Comoros have done an incredible feat. If we lose, people will say that it’s normal, it was against the champion of Africa.

Regarding the situations of Abdallah, Bakar and Ahamada, without clubs for a long time, Amir Abdou reiterated his confidence in them stating that those are players he cannot do without. The coach also discussed the integration of local players into the group and suggested that they should focus more on CAF club competitions that are coming up.

“They manage to adapt and become part of the collective. These are quality players, young players in the making. After that they have to grow up playing African Champions League matches. That’s where they will gain experience,” the coach said.

However, the former Millwall FC playerNadjim Abdou, who is also the captain of Coelacanths believes there isnothing to loseespecially that a game is not played before the game. Recalling that this is not the first time they are facing a great nation, he said they will build on the experience gained in recent years.

“We try to progress each game. With video sessions we work to not make the same mistakes again. We must stay on a good momentum and try with our forces to disrupt this team. And why not do something big at the weekend,”Nadjim Abdou maintained.
