Two Government Vocational High schools to open

The Minister of Secondary Education, Louis Bapes Bapes has chaired an inter-ministerial committee charged with elaborating a legal and financial framework for the setting up and functioning of Vocational High Schools in Lime and Kribi.

The committee is comprised of representatives from the Ministries of Secondary Education and Tourism.

Members are expected to outline the course content, the running cost, the mode of financing and establish partnerships for the two schools.

The course content and training, according to the think-tank, shall be outlined to reflect the realities of the job market.

Apart from classroom lectures, students shall be expected to receive practical training in hotels and tourist sites.

The schools were created to further boost the image of Cameroon with its close to 200 tourist sites, 400 km of Atlantic coast and a favourable legal framework for tourists.

The inter-ministerial committee created by the Prime Minister is expected to produce its final report within a period of twelve months.
