“Following request from Marafa Hamidou Yaya, I have asked SDF layers to go to his defense” John Fru Ndi, SDF chairman said to a crowd of over 6000 millitants at the Bamenda municipal stadium Saturday, May 26 on the occasion of the party’s 22nd anniversary.

The chairman said he offered his help because he stands for the defense of truth.  “If he is innocent he should be set free but if found guilty he should answer for it” he added.

“Cameroonians want to know the truth, how 31 billion was disbursed for the purchase of a presidential jet without consulting parliament” he continued.

The chairman also used the party’s anniversary to congratulate the French socialist party for winning the French general election. Mr. Fru Ndi said François Hollande’s victory could be an inspiration for his party and Cameroonians in general.

He had strong words for the media, condemning some for their un-professionalism.  He called on Cameroonians to boycott news papers that are trying to kill the hard earned freedom of expression the SDF has fought for since its creation.
