PWD  Moves Top After Homologation Decision

The much awaited decision of the Professional Football League’s (LFPC) Homologation Committee on the failed match pitting PWD Bamenda against the Ngaoundere University Football Club on March 24th, 2018 counting for the 6th day of played has been made public. The Abakwa Boyz win the match by forfeiture and gain three points on the general classification taking them to the top of the table on 28 points.

The commission met on Saturday April 17, 2018 with Mathias Eric Owona Nguini as president, Magelan Omballa as the vice president and with Barrister Daniel Ngos as the secretary, Loa Hegba Agai, Colonel Parfait Ndjock and Paul Nlend as members.  But the decision was only made public today despite several calls from PWD Bamenda for the decision to be made public as soon as possible to enable the team prepare it matches in tranquility.

The Committee also homologated the matches between Tonnerre against National Polytechnic (1-0), Panthere against AS Matelot (1-1) and Bang Bullets’ (2-1) victory over Lion Blesse of the first day of play on the score obtained on the field of play.

The decision now means PWD Bamenda consolidates its top spot and moves from 25 to 28 points on the general classification of the MTN Elite II. They Abakwa Boyz now open a five point gab ahead of Canon Yaounde (two matches in hand) and Lion Blesse (with a game in hand) ahead of their last match of the away phase against Panthere of Bangante in Bamenda.

A win in that match will take PWD to 31 points and above the 30 point first round target the President, Abunde Pascal set for the away phase of the championship. With the present standing of 28 points, PWD has set a new target, “Operation Elite One in 8 wins” that targets eight victory in the teams remaining 15 matches to reach elite one championship next football season.
