President Biya appoints regional Governors.

 

Paul Biya appoints new governors

The President of the Republic  Paul Biya has signed a presidential  decree appointing governors to ten the regions of the country. The appointment maintains six former governors and promotes SDOs to the rank of governors. Abakat Ahamat of the Northwest moves to the Adamawa in the same capacity. This comes at a time when some civil society organisations in the region were planning street demonstrations against him for being anti Northwest.

 

The presidential decree was signed on March 14, 2012. According to that decree, the following were appointed as follows

Adamawa: Abakar Ahamat, Senior Civil Administrator, Formerly Governor of the Northwest.

Centre Region: Roger Moses Eyene NLOM Civil Administrator in Maintained in Post.

East Region: IVAHA DIBOUA Samuel Dieudonne, formerly Governor of the West.

Far North: AWA FONKA  Augustine, Senior Civil Administrator, formerly SDO of MMFA-and-Kim Division.

Littoral Region: Beti Assomo Joseph, Senior Civil Administrator, formerly Governor of the Far North.

North: OTTO Joseph Wilson, Senior Civil Administrator, formerly Inspector General responsible for electoral matters at the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization.

Northwest: LELE LAFRIQUE DEBEN Tchoffo Adolphe, Senior Civil Administrator, formerly Governor of the Eastern Region.

West: MIDJIYAWA Bakari, Senior  Civil Administrator, formerly SDO of  Mayo Rey  Division.

South NDJAGA Jules Marcellin, Civil Administrator in Maintained in Post.

Southwest: OKALIA Bilai Bernard, Senior  Civil Administrator, formerly SDO of Wouri
