Post Election Saga: Police Disrupt Bar. Yondo Black Press Conference

Bar. Yondo Black joins others like Hon. Nintchue and Albert Nzonga to stand by Kamto

Dozens of police officers, Thursday October 11, stopped Barister Yondo Black, former Bar President from holding a press conference in Douala. He organized the press briefing in support of his new found ally, Prof. Maurice Kamto.  But before they could, Bar. Yondo Black castigated Communication Minister Issa Tchiroma and his CPDM allies for attacking Maurice Kamto unwontedly.

Yondo Black said he personally pleaded for Issa Tchiroma and Garga Haman Adji to be released from prison. Bar. Yondo Black, one of those behind the creation of the SDF in 1990 said both men who are now professing love for Mr. Biya and his regime had spent 5 years in prison without trial. He questioned why they could qualify the president as a legalist after such acts.  Today they have arrogated the right to speak on TV for themselves and not for the people he added.

He questioned aloud those who said Kamto is Bamilike, whether he is not Cameroonian like himself or others. He faulted those trying to push this post electoral battle on tribal lines as enemy rather than friends of Cameroon.

The Press conference held at the residence of Albert Nzongang  but was stopped by police before it concluded. The police had earlier barricaded the residence of bar. Yondo Black thinking the press conference would hold there.

Cameroon’s post election problem started when Maurice kamto declared on Monday October 8, that he has “taken the penalty and scored and would do all to defend it”. This provoked fear and panic amongst the ruling class forcing the regime and the CPDM to organized press conferences in an attempt to subtly appeal for Cameroonians and the media not to heed for call for street demonstration during this period.
