Friday the 11 of July 2014, marked a turning point in the history of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon and Bali, where the PCC first started as the Basel Mission. It was the day that the administrative procedures to split the newly created Bali presbytery from the Mezam Presbytery took place in a triple ceremony that held at the Mezam Presbytery office in Ntamulung Bamenda, the P.C Ntanfoang Bali, and at the manse, at P.S Tikali Bali.

Following the official auditing of the treasurer of the Mezam Presbytery by a team led by the Internal Auditor of the PCC, Besong Fred, The documents for the administrative handing over were ready and the delegation comprising of the Presbytery Secretary of Mezam the Rev. Talikong Amos Nfor, the Area Treasurer, the Rev Awatt Philip, the team of auditors and the pioneer Presbytery Secretary of Bali Presbytery, the treasurer and the presbytery chairman headed for Bali.

They were welcomed in a brief ceremony at the PC Ntanfoang by representatives of the various church movements in Bali.

“The Bali Presbytery was given birth in the Synod of 2013”, Rev Titatang Kingsley, pioneer Presbytery secretary for Bali presbytery said.

“Today there were administrative procedures to see that the split from Mezam is complete and become effective, that is why the auditor of the church and the area treasurer and other stake holders are here to make the declaration by handing the official document so that real work can commence” Rev. Titatang added.

Following the brief stopover at PC Ntanfoang, and later on at the Manse, the Moderator’s representative who also doubles as Mezam Presbytery Secretary, Rev Talikong Amos Nfor said, the birth of a new presbytery simply means the Christians have to work harder, and called on the Christian of Bali to give the new presbytery secretary and his team the necessary support to succeed.

In response, the Chairman of the Bali presbytery, Elder Taphrey Patrick said the people of Bali had waited for the coming of the presbytery for a very long time and have whole heartedly received it. he promised that the new presbytery would grow in strength but Mezam Presbytery still remain the mother and should continue to support and nourish Bali still its wean from breast milk.

He called on the Christians of Bali to do everything with immediate effect to construct the Presbytery office soonest and went further to thank the Mezam presbytery secretary and his team for all the groundwork they carried towards the creation of the new presbytery.

For the pioneer Presbytery Secretary Bali, the task ahead is clear, that is Sustainability, collaboration, support and hard work.

Rev. Titatang Kingsley who also doubles at the parish pastor of PC Ntanfoang, informed the Christians that real work has started to build the presbytery, and that the 23 congregations and pastors will need to carry out more evangelization, update the spiritual lives of the Christians and the community and to raise money to sustain the presbytery.
