PCC Moderator Lays Foundation Stone of Two PCC Congregations

 The Moderator of the PCC Dr Ffestus Asana 

The Moderator of the PCC, the Rt Rev Dr Festus A. Asana was in Bamenda last weekend to lay the foundation stone of two congregations of the PCC – PC Mankwi and PC Ntah – Mambu  in Bafut  and Mankon respectively.

The Rt Rev Dr Festus Asana started the exercise in Mankwi  where he was warmly received by the Christian community led by the Parish Pastor, the Rev Asaha Ferdinand, Elite of Mankwi and a college of clergy.

In his spiritual message to the Christians during the two occasions drawn from MT 5: 13 -16 on the theme “ Christians are the light of the world,” the Moderator, congratulated the efforts of the Christians and went further to invite them to be the salt and light of the world in the Church, home and society. He challenged them to be determined be their character to bring others to worship God in the new structure.

As a tradition during the laying of the foundation stone, the histories of the congregations concerned were read during the different ceremonies, and various symbolic articles ranging from the Church, seedlings and food extracts  of the particular community as well as coins used by the people and many historical pieces are buried in one corner for posterity.





Mankwi congregation was born in 1914 while Ntah-Mambu congregation was created in1935 and recognized as a full fleshed congregation in 1959. Both occasions were marked by various speeches, fundraising to complete the buildings, infant and adult baptism .

The remarkable presence of HRH Fon Angwafor III was present in Ntah Mambu while Chief Talla II of Mankwi was present in Mankwi.

It should be noted that both events saw the active participation of the Elite who contributed cheerfully towards the realisations of some millions for the finishing of the different structures.
