Over 500 CWF Groups of the PCC in the NWR Celebrate 51st Annual Rally

Over five hundred Christian Women Fellowship (CWF) groups of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon gathered in various centers all over the NorthWest Region to celebrate their fifty first annual rally like their sisters in other parts of the country.

This post jubilee celebration took place on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of November 2012. This year’s rally was celebrated on the theme, “wherever you go trust and obey”. In her message to the Christian women fellowship members all over the country, the  National Secretary for Women’s Work, Mrs Ngeh Beatrice gave more insight to all groups and persons present on the theme of the celebrations which as she said was inspired by Jesus’ great commission as written in the book of Luke 24 the verses47-48.

She went ahead in her message to call on the women and every one present to stand together in faith, to let Christ live in their lives, to be able to speak God’s message without fear and above all to the CWF groups in particular to preach the good news and help people in need of Christ to know him better. All this she termed “evangelization on large scale”. Mrs Ngeh Beatrice concluded her word of inspiration with the lines from church hymnary 357 second stanza “work for the night is coming”.

Celebrations took different phases in different Presbyteries around the country. Activities like bible quiz, competition, and exhibition of items were common to all groups.

The Mezam Presbytery with its massive turnout of fifty nine groups was the proud host of the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon the Right Reverend Dr Festus Asana. Also the newly created Bafut presbytery witness during this the celebrations the election and dedication of two Women’s Work Helpers and were graced with the presence of the National Secretary for the Women’s Work. The CWF of Tubah Boyo  during this rally also were cautioned during this year’s celebration to keep away from heeding to the call of unfamiliar voices which would only derail them.

Meanwhile in  Batibo presbytery  it was rather tainted with a sad note as two CWF members of Barambam and Wumugi respectively were laid to rest on the day of the celebration.

This sad note was however the opposite of things in the Nyen which was the rally centre  for Meta presbytery as the  Bome zone dramatized the story of Ruth and Naomi.  The Celebration in Nyen Meta also witnessed the award of certificates to five adult mothers from the Christian women literacy center.

The Ngie presbytery on this day of joy for the Christian women fellowship movement was proud to have amongst them Ma Njeba Sophie the Pioneer President of the CWF group in the Presbytery as far back as 1972, who still remains committed to the movement. The women and Christians of Ntundip Santa and Njikwa presbyteries also took part actively in preparing for and celebrating this day.

It was a great event which witnessed the participation of all and sundry especially from dignitaries like mayors, and traditional rulers, civil and administrative authorities.
