NW D2: Three teams grap ticket into last 8

Rush FC Bali, Bafut United and Rainbow FC have sealed their spot in the last 8 of the Northwest Regional Second Division Championship (NWD2) otherwise called the Mini Interpools with three more games to go.

These follows results of the 11th day of play that took place across the region this midweek. In Pool A, Rainbow FC recorded a 3:1 victory over Bamenda FC to open an 8 point gap at the top, while a one all tie between Rush FC Bali and Assotcho FC in Santa was enough to secure a place in the last 8 with three games to spare for the Bali Nyonga outfit that lies top of Pool B. Bafut United’s 1:0 victory over America For Africa did not only take them above their opponent into the second position but guaranteed a top 4 finish for them in this pool.

Unconfirmed reports say officials of the regional Bureau of FECAFOOT NW may raise the number of participants in the miniinterpools to 12, six from each pool. If that is the case, teams like Hilltop strikers that recorded a 5:1 victory over Dream team could make the list. As of now, if that is the case the remaining 11 teams in both pools with the exception of Mankon United could still make it to the last 12.
