NW D2: Day 9 Results

The 9th day of play in the Northwest Regional Second Division League (NW D2) produced very few changes on the table placing in both pools of the competition.

The greatest changed is in pool B of the competition where Bafut United’s 2:1 victory over Mankon United takes them to 2nd spot from 4th, and 3 points behind leaders Rush FC Bali that was held by Metro Security away in Mbengwi in a 2 all tie, the first points dropped by the Bali side since the start of the competition.  Rush FC Bali alias the Mungaka Boys is certain to become the first team to qualify for this year's mini interpools. Down 2-0 after 65 minutes, Rush FC Bali created sensation  when it scored two beautiful goals within the last 14 minutes of the game. Striker Mounyeme almost gave victory to the Rush visitors 2 minutes to the end of encounter in Mbengwi but his shot went off target. A win in their next match would all but seal a place in the last 8 of the competition.

The rest of the games in this pool ended in a tie, leaving the status quo intact.

Despite 3 victories recorded in Pool A, it was the top sides that continue to pull the strings, leaving the log standings the same, but for PWD Bamenda that climbed out of the drop zone into the top 4 that could earn them a place in the mini interpools.  The Abakwa Boys beat Milano kumbo by 2:1 in Bamenda to move a place up above Nkambe FC.
