New MINCOM Delegate Visits City FM

Mr Njeke Celestine, NW Delagate of Communication

The Newly appointed North West Regional Delegate for Communication Mr Njike Celestine while on a familiarization tour to Media organs within Mezam Division made a stopover at City Fm Radio 88.9mhz on Wednesday April 21,  2021.

Mr Njike said the aim of the visit was to get himself acquainted with the people he’s been appointed to work with, find out their difficulties and challenges, ways to improve their working condition and to familiarisé with his collaborators.

The MINCOM delegate was accompanied by Divisional Delegate for Communication Mezam, Mme Alima Aboubakar Mathansa, VictoryMarshal Ayafor Epse Basang Regional Chief of Service, Public Communication And Kuhbi Standley, Regional Chief of Service, Communication Technologies.

Drawing from his over 20 years working experience in both the private and public sectors,  the delegate adviced the workers of City FM Radio, Bamenda Online and The Enquirer Newspaper who share the same premises on the  neccessity to fact check their stories before publishing, not to be biased in their reporting,  safeguard human life and respect the ethics of the profession.

He cautioned that as  journalists especially in a region like the Northwest rife with conflict,  there’s the need for journalist to show prove of  Professionalism.  Being professional he continued will save us from landing into troubled water and to contribute in our own way to bring back peace to the region.

Mr Njike was impressed with the competitive nature of the media landscape in the region manned by some seasoned journalists.

He said  he was looking forward to better, well organized and disciplined communication landscape in the region.l, worthy of the media men and women that represent it. The doors of his office he assured, would always be open and ready to help young radio stations grow because he is aware of the difficulties they encounter in the field daily.
