MTN Elite One: YOSA vs Renaissance

The National elite one championship enters day 5 this weekend with Northwest flag bearer Yong Sport Academy (YOSA) entertaining struggling Renaisance of Ngomou at the Bamenda Municipal stadium this Sunday. It’s the team first home game after they suffered a 0:2 defeat in the hands of  Cotonsport of Garoua lat Sunday.

YOSA presently occupies the 9 spot in the 14 log table on 5 sports in four matches already played. One win, two draws and a defeat is her balance sheet this far. YOSA’s next opponent has only secured a point this far in the campaign and lies at the last but one spot on the log.

Football fans and supporters of YOSA are as upbeat as a supersonic balloon ahead of the game as any of them would tell you this match is three points up for grasp. Some see this as their year of success after the club president Yong Francis promised them silver ware. They argue that only Coton sport remains their obstacle this season, a claim that may be is far off reality lane because at present the Garoua boys are 4th on the standing and seems to be up against some serious challengers to the title this season. Union Douala and Unisport of Bafang seem to be pulling the strings at this stage.

With the two front runners involved in the continent over this weekend, it might as well be a chance for Cotonsport to sneak into the top spot albeit temporary. But this would only be if they beat Scorpion of Mbe in a local derby this week in Garoua.. For the other advanced matches of the 5th day, Tiko United travels toYaounde to confront the Benjamin of the league table Canon Yaounde while Aigle andNjallaQuandSportAcademy would face each other at the Cenajes play ground in Dschang.

The rest of the matches would come up on the 22 of February when New Stars of Douala take on Unisport and Sable against Union. The match between Les Astres and Panthere would be played on the 29th of February.
