Artifacts that have been missing from Nso and Oku palaces for over 30 years have been brought back.

The brain behind the search of the missing artifacts is William Holland, from Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States of America. William Holland with Nso traditional title as Shufai Bailack, recently presented the artifacts to the Fon of Nso and his notables in the Nso Palace.

The antiquities presented to the Fon of Nso included an elephant horn, a war symbol and chains used to chain up slaves in slave trade days. William Holland Bailack, who has traced back his ancestry to Oku, said it was during his research on Ebay website that he traced the roots of his ancestors back to Cameroon. William Holland said he was grateful with the traditional title of Shufai “Bailack” bestowed on him.

On his part, the Fon of Nso Sehm Mbinglo I thanked Shufai Bailack for bringing back to Nso Palace something that had disappeared several years ago. He said if William Holland was not patriotic he would have bought the objects over there and resold them since they would have fetched him more money.

William told the press that he will continue to carry out more research to create awareness leading to the discovery of more antiquities and their return to the Nso Palace. He was crowned Shufai Bailack in the compound of Fai Mamoh in Kumbo town. He was accompanied by his cousin, Emmanuel Motika.
