The close to 120 delegates from the 28 presbyteries of the PCC are still in conclave here at the Presbyterian Church Centre Mankon.

Since 3 pm when the doors of the centre were closed, hundred of anxious
pastors, church workers, members of the press and Christians have been waiting for news to filter out of the hall.

Nobody is allowed into or out of the hall. The Rev. Fonki Samuel and Rev. Abwenzoh Williams are vying for the top job, the office of Moderator, while the Rev. Forchang Babila and Rev. Nganji Christian are in for the position of synod clerk.

Before the delegates went into conclave, the Rev. Fonki was said to be ahead in the opinion poll. But nothing is certain as of now with the delegates locked in the chambers here for the past two and a half hour, an indication that the race is too close to call.
