Elite I : YOSA Inflicts First Defeat Over Renard

Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda-YOSA is the first team to inflict a home defeat over Stade Renard of Melong in 19 home games. Yosa broke the jinx imposed on visiting teams last Sunday February 18, 2018 in a match counting for the third day of play in the MTN Elite I championship.

The lone goals of the encounter was scored by Yves Dooh Moukoko at the 18th minute of  the encounter. Yosa’s resolute defense that is yet to concede a goal since the start of the championship was able to withstand the heat generated by the Melong furnace, heated at full capacity.  The results catapult Yosa from 11th to 5th sport on five points.

Elsewhere, Fovu inflicted a 2-1 away win over Dragon in Yaounde to move to the top of the placings. They joined hitherto leader Feutchue FC that were held to a one-all tie in Limbe by Astres of Douala. Playing in Yaounde, promoted AS Fortuna gathered its first points of the campaign with a 2-1 win over USM of Loum. Yaounde II FC   registered one-nil victory over Unisport of Bafang at home.

Playing in Garoua, Cotonsport and Apajes of Mfou shared the spoils in an eight-goal thriller. It was Coton’s first home game of the Campaign and the first at the Cotonsport’s Stadium under Contruction. The matches between Bamboutos of Mbouda and Colombe of the South in Buea and in Dschang between Aigle and Union ended goalless. The Match between New Stars and Eding Sport, two teams involved on the continental scene would be played on a later date.
