Elite II : Cosmos vs PWD Preview

Current league leaders PWD of Bamenda and the only unbeaten team in the Elite II championship after seven playing days will on Monday, April 2, take on Cosmos FA of the Mbam in Mbankomo, in the outskirt of Yaounde, in a match expected to test their resolve to ascend into the top flight after four seasons in Elite II.

Both teams go into the duel with varying forms, with Cosmos having two games in hand, one against the National Polytechnic and the other due to the fact that they were on standby on day one. Cosmos has a poor home record, with three home matches and only one point recorded. This is in sharp contrast of their away form where they have picked six points in two matches with identical 1-0 wins over  Dynamos of Douala (day  4) and AS Etoa Meki (day 6). Cosmos has been very poor in front of goal, scoring only two goals in five matches and conceding three. The record this far shows five matches played, two won, one draw and two defeats, two goals scored and three conceded.

Whereas their guest are a totally opposing team in terms of performance and results obtained this far. PWD  of Bamenda comes into town with a greedy reputation for snatching all points. The Abakwa Boys have won all three away matches they have played since the start of the championship ( 0-1 against Racing, 1-2 against NPB and 0-1 against Tonnerre)  and dropping only two points in a home draw with Renaissance of Ngoumou. PWD stats speaks of six matches played, five won and one draw, seven goals scored and two conceded with an extra three points already in the bag from the match won by forfeiture against the Ngaoundere  University FC. The match against Cosmos could be an opportunity for PWD target man Ahudu to open his scoring against Cosmos, his former team. Probably the biggest buy for PWD, the native of Nso has been unable to open his account, though he has proved to be the man that breaks defenses to make way for Dhobit to score.
