Cup of Cameroon Draws

Yong Sport Academy (YOSA) of Bamenda would play against  Union des Mouvements Sportifs (Ums) de Loum in the semi finals of the National Challenge Cup of Cameroon following the draws of the competition carried out yesterday at the FECAFOOT headquarter in Yaoundé.

YOSA fans are pleased to have avoided the in-form Astres FC of Douala and Canon Sportive of Yaoundé that will clash in the other semi final match, described as the final to be.

Isidore Kouam, Yosa’s representative at the draws said he was satisfied with the draws but acknowledged that there is no easy team at this level of the competition.

UMS of Loum it should be noted is no easy opponent and is expected to pose serious problems for YOSA that has proven to be goal-shy this football season, hardly scoring two goals in any encounter. UMS that would play in the MTN Elite One league next football season after they emerged Elite Two champions on 50 points, 6 ahead of Scorpion of Mbe and 10 above Cosmos of Bafia after two seasons in the competition.

The first leg of the match would be played on Wednesday in Loum, and the return leg in Bamenda on Sunday. In the other encounter, Astres FC travels to Yaounde for the away leg on the same day before the return leg in Douala on Sunday. The date of the final is yet to be known, and would be decided by the presidency of the republic.

FECAFOOT has up to the end of the month to furnish the Confederation of African Football (CAF) with the list of players and teams to participate in continental club football competitions next football season.
