CCU Matriculates 3rd Batch of Over 130

Over 130 students of the Cameroon Christian University (CCU) have taken their matriculation oath at the CCU Main Campus in Bali registering their names as the the 3rd batch of students of this university.

The oath taking was carried out during the Matriculation ceremony presided over by the Vice Chancellor of the CCU, Prof Emmanuel Chia in collaboration with the academic staff and witnessed by parents , invited guests, administrative, public  and education stakeholders among others.

Prior to the matriculation proper, was an opening mediation by the Chaplain of the CCU the Rev Achowah Umenei. Preaching from Philippians  4:13 on the theme, “success because of Christ,” the man of God to the new CCU students that as they register their names in the register of the CCU they should claim it that they have the strength to respect the rules and regulations of the CCU through God who strengthens them. But the Rev Umenei challenged them to back these words with hard work, regular attendance at school, obedience to their lecturers and do all these with respect.

In his welcome address the Vice Chancellor of the CCU, said that the day marked another milestone in the life of the CCU. He told the incoming students that success in the university is not only a matter of success or just getting a degree, it is a matter of hard work and excellence.

He discouraged the idea of following the so- called fashion but rather told them to be role models in the way they dress and speak.

The guest speaker of the day, Prof Bemban Sammy Chumbow thrilled the over 1500 present with an academic discourse on the topic, “living the mission and vision of the CCU.’ In summary he charges the students to strive for knowledge which will make them better citizens and part of a transforming society , making Cameroon to be an emerging nation by 2035.

The academic discourse ushered the over 130 students who finally took their matriculation oath and were officially declared and accepted as students of the CCU by the Vice Chancellor and the Registrar of the CCU.

The day was marked by presentation of bouquet of followers by the parents to their children as a sign of encouragement.
