Following the drawing of pots for the next Cup of Nations Eliminatory, Cameroon still faces the prospects of missing out from the continents greatest soccer show piece as they could fall in a group with some of Africa’s informs teams likes Nigeria, Ghana and Ivory Coast.

The draw for the playoffs for the 30th edition of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2015) will be held on March 10 in Morocco, the host country.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the composition of three pots of teams to take part in the draws for the knockout stage of the competition. The Indomitable Lions are housed in the pot 2, alongside Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Senegal, Equatorial Guinea, Sierra Leone, Gabon, Uganda, Congo and Central African Republic.

Teams in the same pot cannot compete against each other. Groups will consist of a team drawn from each of the four pot.  The 44 teams bidding for one of the 15 available places would be  divided into eleven competing pools of 4 teams each. The first of each group joins the host nation for the final phase. The four best runners up from the 11 groups will also make the final list. The playoffs begin in June 2013.


Composition pots


 Pot 1: Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Togo, Mali, South Africa, Cape Verde, Congo, Zambia, Tunisia, Ghana.

 Pot 2: Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Senegal, Cameroon, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Gabon, Uganda, Congo, Central African Republic.

 Pot 3: Ethiopia, Benin, Angola, Niger, Zimbabwe, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Malawi, Burundi, Liberia, Sudan.

Pot  4 teams will be known after the preliminary round.
