Camasej – Regional Hospital Sign Far Reaching MOU

The Northwest Chapter of the Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists –Camasej and the Bamenda Regional Hospital have “put pen and paper together” in  a memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that would be of mutual benefit to both parties. The MOU was signed Thursday July 20th at the Conference Hall of the Regional Hospital-Bamenda.

 Dr. Thompson Kinge, Director of the Regional Hospital at the signing said his institution is committed to providing quality health services to the community. Justifying the motivation behind the agreement Dr Kinge said mass education and quality information are two very important components of quality health care. “And if we are to achieve this then it’s only logical that we work in synergy with specialist in communication and information” he added

 He decribed Camasej members as “expert in communication and information” who will help bring benefits to the patients of the hospital through their various interventions on radio, TV, the print and online medium and in the other hand reduce healthcare cost for Camasej members.

Obah Rose the chapter president of Camasej holds that the partnership would go a long to help journalist take care of themselves. “More often than not we work every day and find it difficult to visit the hospital to consult” she said.  She encouraged Camasej members to make use of this opportunity and improve their health.

The MOU in brief provides Camasej members the opportunity to benefit from the services of the Bamenda Regional Hospital at a  reduced cost while also offering the hospital a platform through Camasej members to pass information on its services.

The signing was attended by a representative of the Regional Delegate of Public Health, workers of the Bamenda Regional Hospital and media men and women. The MOU marks a mile stone in Camasej’s achievements especially under the tenure of Obah Rose who is in her second mandate.
