The Bali Cultural and Development Association (BCA) branch in Germany has donated wheelchairs to some 19 cripples in Bali, during an event that took place at the Grand Stand at Ntanfoang Square-Bali on Sunday October 18, 2015.  The families of two of the 19 targeted recipients who had died before now received 50 000 Frs. each.

Handing over the wheelchairs, Cromwell Richy Mundam, representing BCA-Germany told those present that the gifts are intended to help them overcome some of their daily challenges and make them feel part of society. He said BCA-Germany still has so many plans for the disadvantaged persons in Bali and advised them not to take their conditions as a disability but to use it as ability to the good of the community.

“What some of  you can do so many able people cannot” he said, with reference to some of their unique abilities like weaving, electronic repairs and painting. He further advised parents to make sure they vaccinate their children against vaccine preventable diseases like poliomyelitis which is one of the major causes of broken limbs in the community.

The largesse of BCA-Germany did not only end there as family members of the 19 beneficiaries were also handed tablets of soap for their part played in taking care of these disadvantaged family members over the years.

The program to donate wheelchairs to some disabled in Bali was initiated by Maxwell Gwangwaa, former president of BCA-Germany and executed by the present president – Ganse Keneth.

The handing over was attended by a representative of the D.O Bali, the Commissioner of the Special Branch, the Sub Delegate for Youth Affairs Bali, representatives of Ashia-Cameroon and traditional notables.

BCA-Germany is trying to merge the UK and Belgium branches to form BCA-Europe. The y are presently supporting other development projects back home like the construction of a multipurpose hall and the Fon’s Palace.
