Bamenda FC would play in the next round of the national challenge cup of Cameroon as Northwest representative number one, after they beat Rush FC of Bali by 4-2 following post match penalty kicks at the Bamenda Municipal Stadium on Sunday.

Both sides had played to a one all tie after 110 minutes.  The deadlock in a very tight and interesting encounter was broken at the 102nd minute oa additional time when Teghem powered his way from the right flange to beat the inform Henry Njouh at his near post.

Despite protests for an offside by players of Rush FC Bali, the goal stood. Minutes later it was a similar story at the other end. Taka Joshua was left loose inside the box when he picked up a deflected pass and swiftly turns around to fire a low shot that beat Onana for Bamenda FC forcing both sides to go to the penalty spot to decide the game.

After four rounds of penalty kicks, Chia Elvis and Bunga Ibrahim Nchamukong flopped while Bamenda FC converted all four, carrying day 4-2.

In the playoff in the earlier kickoff, Tantecam beat a hurriedly assembled Metro Security side by 1-0 to clinch 3rd spot. The results now mean the Northwest region would be represented by 5 teams in the round of 32 of the cup of Cameroon. The three Regional Second Division sides would join National Polytechnic  of Bambui from the elite two and elite one side Yong Sport Academy.
