Hostages rescued from Amba Camp in Pinyin

Circulation on the Bamenda-Bafoussam High is guaranteed for  regular business transaction after the Cameroonian army dismantled possible threats of a separatists blockade as announced on social media. Two separatist fighters were killed and nine hostages liberated and the separatist operation camp destroyed in an operation in Pinyin, Santa Subdivision between  15th and 17th of April, 2021. Other materials and weapons including bullets, iron rods, den guns, gun powder and locally fabricated canons and explosive devices were seized or destroyed during the operation.

Brigadier General Nka Valere , Commander of the 5th Joint Military region accompanied Brigadier General Ekongwese Divine  accompanied by their close aides descended to Pinyin to congratulate the soldiers for a successful operation. General Nka called on the population of Pinyin to fully participate in the fight against terrorism in the country and the Northwest region in particular. “…the population is collaborating but we are asking for more collaboration with the defense and security forces… Intelligence and information are the key so as to avoid collateral damage.. ”

He assured the population that the security forces will constantly patrol and maintain security on that stretch of road and that they could ply the Bamenda-Matazem stretch of road, carry out their transactions without fear, though he cautioned them to be vigilante.

the nine hostages were kidnapped last April 11 by Amba separatist fighters and kept under very inhumane conditions and without food and water. The nine hostages were reunited with their family in a brief ceremony at the 5th Joint Military Region HQ.
