50th Anniversary celebration: the Presidential couple in Buea


The Presidential couples arrived the Tiko Airport at 1:15 PM this Tuesday 18th February 2014. The first couple shall be expected to inaugurate the 50th anniversary monument on Wednesday at 11 AM.

Celebrations marking 50 years of reunification started on Sunday 16th February 2014 with an inter-religious prayer session at the University of Buea Campus. This was followed by a musical concert staged by young Cameroonian artists.
The first major highlight of the celebrations was the colloquium grouping university dons, top government officials, politicians, actors and witnesses to Cameroon’s reunification.

The colloquium held under the theme “From reunification to integration, 50 years of nation building” took place at the amphi-750 of the University of Buea. The session was chaired by the Pm Yang Philemon.
According to the official program, reunification marches are ongoing in all ten regional headquarters this Tuesday 18th February 2014.

After the inauguration of the reunification monument Wednesday 19th, torch light procession and scout movements shall be some of the activities for a day that ends with a cultural evening.
The D-Day Thursday February 20th shall be highlighted a grand march pass and reception at the refurbished Prime Minister’s lodge, Buea.
