Yosa Vs Cotonsport ende goalless

Yong Sport Academy (Yosa) is the first team to forced a point out of in-form Cotonsport following a barren game at the Bamenda Municipal Stadium last Sunday July 14, counting for the 17th day of play in the MTN Elite One championship.

Before the game, Cotonsport seemed rather unstoppable, firing on all cylinders with as many as 16 goals in three matches, with the most thrilling being a 7-0 win over Panthere on day 16.

Sébastien Desabre, coach of Contonsport was quick to admit the poor nature of the sandy pitch in Bamenda and the heavy downpour during the first half greatly hampered his team’s playing style and approach to the game.

For most of the game, Cotonsport resulted to defending, and hoping to catch Yosa with long balls ahead. This bore no fruits as Yosa completely dominated the second half but failed to make any gains out of it.

The result means Astres of Douala not open a 5 points lead at the top of the table on 33 points, ahead of Cotonsport. Yosa continues to dance at the middle of the table at the 7th position on 23 points, 6 points away from danger and a distant 10 points below the summit.
