Over 21 different categories of stolen items worth million of francs CFA have been confiscated by the police from a gang of three that has been terrorizing students and residents of Bambili in Tubah Subdivision.

The three, Tateh Renne, 22, from Bambili, Tah Caleb, 15, from Bambili and Wirba Pascal, 22, from Banso were arrested last week by police in Tubah lead by Assistant Superintendent of police Nchotu Jonathan Fuh following a tipoff.

Residents of Bambili, made up mostly of students of the Bamenda University and other higher institutes of learning have of recent been complaining of several unforced break ins into their rooms with items like TV sets, radios, DVDS, gas bottles and gas plates taken away.

Last Thursday, a vigilant neighbour noticed Tah Caleb with a bundle of keys trying to open the room of another student who had gone for classes, and when she sought to find out, the suspect took to his heels. She raised an alarm and he was apprehended by the population. The police were notified and the immediately swung into action arresting his close collaborators. They were found in possession of hundred of keys that permit them to easily break into houses.

Meanwhile two other members of the gang, Awagah Micheal, 22 and Tateh Fabrice, 25, brother to Tateh Renne are still at large.

The police have issued a call to anyone who happened to have bought any item from the gang to return them to the police and they will not press charges against them.

The police have recovered the following items from the gang; 19 gas bottles, 03 crates of beer containing 09 empty bottles, 03 wool carpets, 02 gas plates, ¼ bag of rice, 05 woofers with 03 side speakers, 03 DVD players, 06 television (04 flat screens and 0 old model), 03 cameras (02 digital and 01 analogue) all bad, 01 internet key, 01 plier, 01 gas table, 02 cooking pots including a dish, two plates and a frying pan, 01 remote control, about 100 CDs, 09 old telephones, 01 riffle, 01 portable slim fan, 02 decorders, 01 desk top computer and 05 laptops.

They have called on those that were burgled to come and identify and collect their items with their valid receipts. As for the gas bottles, the police boss said they will only hand them out to those who had launched an official complaint about their missing bottles before now, though he confessed it will still be very difficult because he has over 50 complaints at the level of his office for stolen or missing gas bottles.

    what next? The forces of law and order in cameroon love such cases so as to enrich themselves. It will not take a week for those bandits to be seen moving around us.What a county?
