The semi-finals of the Northwest Regional Second Division Championship (NWD2) comes up this Saturday July 13, with no clear favourite in sight. Three of the remaining four teams are from Pool B of the competition with Tatecam FC of Nkwen the odd element, while PWD, Ngoketunjia FC and Bang Bullets qualify from the same pool.

The first match of the day will pit Ngoketunjia FC of Ndop against Bang Bullets of Nkambe, two teams that have met twice this season with both matches failing to produce a winner with only two goals scored. During the league phase, both sides drew one all in Nkambe on day 4, and zero all in Ndop on day 13.

Bang Bullet had to beat local rival Nkambe FC by a goal to nil in a tough encounter to reach the semi, while Ngoketunjia FC came from behind to force pre-tournament  favourite  FC Bamenda to a one all tie  before overcoming them 5-4 in post match penalty kicks.

The second match of the day will pit two sides yet to confront each other since the start of the competition. PWD rides into the encounter as the more experience side and with the best result recorded in the last round following its 2-0 win over Rush FC of Bali. Tatecam on the other hand emerged champions of her pool and are the only side from pool A still in the race. The Nkwen outfit beat Rainbow FC by a goal to nothing in the last 8.

The winner of the second phase would be crowned champions of the Northwest Regional Second division League and would go on to represent the region in a national tournament bringing together the champions of the 10 region to compete for three available tickets into the MTN Elite 2 national championship.
