Reckoned as the most anticipated encounter in the region this season, fans and lovers of football in the Northwest would have loved to be served this plate of “footballing supper” at the finals, but the draws that took place last weekend  were rather unkind to them, serving them this as breakfast  instead.

Both teams, former First Division sides and finalists of the Cup of Cameroon will lock horns on Wednesday November 4, in the first of two encounters scheduled for the Bamenda Municipal Stadium. Kumbo Striker beat “Ngia P” to the lone ticket of the Cup of Cameroon from the region in the finals played at the same venue, two months ago. And Fans of PWD see this as a good omen, because no team has successfully represented the Northwest region in the Cup of Cameroon and Interpools for the Past 12 years.

Meanwhile report from Kumbo say there is total mobilization on their path to storm the Bamenda Municipal Stadium as they did in the finals of the Cup of Cameroon when they overpowered and overshadowed PWD Supporters in Bamenda.

Tangwa Lawrence, a sport reporter for City Community FM Radio  in Kumbo who has been following the team throughout the championship say supporters will troop Bamenda in buses, private vehicles and bikes and that Bamenda should expect not less than 500 travelling fans coupled with hundred of others waiting in Bamenda.

Kumbo, he said has been for too long without an elite team since Kumbo striker descended into the second division in 2002.

The second encounter of the day will pit Menchum Eagles of Wum against Bang Bullet of Nkambe as from 3 pm while on Thursday, as from 1 pm, Tatecam FC and Grassland will clash and in the second game, Tubah United of Bambui will confront Dzekwa FC of Jakiri.

The winners of these matches automatically qualify for the semifinals with the subsequent winners moving on to play in the finals to determine the champion of the region.  The champion will represent the Northwest in the National Round Robin Tournament known as the Interpools which will bring together all the regional champions from the 10 regions to compete for three spots into the national elite Two Championship.
