Four Rushed to Hospital After Mile 10 Accident Bda-Santa Road

Four people, two under very critical conditions have been rushed to hospitals in Bamenda and Akum following an accident at the Mile 10 stretch of road on the Bamenda – Santa road on Monday March 2, 2015.

The accident occurred when a Toyota DX 80, locally transformed into a mini pickup overturned under the weight of a cow it was transporting to the slaughter house in Santa. A butcher and a Fulani herdsman who were seated behind with the cow were left seriously injured with blood oozing out of their heads while the driver and his assistant were also slightly injured. The herdsman a boy in his teen was unconscious by the time he was transport to the hospital. The cow escaped the accident unharmed and was later conveyed to the slaughter house to continue its journey.

The pairs were rushed to the Bamenda Regional Hospital and the Akum Holy Trinity Hospital for medical attention in two vehicles. Passersby from inter-urban buses and other vehicles in an extreme show of solidarity contributed money to help rush the victims to the hospital.
