11 new Regional delegates commissioned into Office

 Newly appointed regional heads of departments have been called upon by Northwest Governor Lele L’Afrique to be duty conscious, respect state institutions and use the means placed at their disposal to further the work of the state, during their official installation Friday February 22, 2013 at the Bamenda Congress Hall.

 “You should promote grassroots structures, improve on the delivery of government services to the people of the northwest and judiciously use the resources put at your disposal” the governor said.

Asked why the officially installation is coming this late when some of the delegates were appointed since 2011, the governor responded that he has recently taken over and this was just the appropriate time.

 The governor also used the opportunity to announce that Wum, capital of Menchum Division will host the next Administrative Coordination Meeting in March 2013.

Speaking earlier the Government Delegate to the Bamenda City Council, Ndumu Nji Vincent accused some regional heads of services of only collaborating with the City Council for paid services.

“With 138 billion to be transferred to the 360 local councils and 14 city councils in the country…, there is need for collaboration between the City Council and decentralized services” he continued.

He called for more team work between the city council and the various ministerial departments and services represented by the regional delegates.

The 11 delegates include Achu Lawrence Achire of Sports and Physical Education, Alonjah Clement Nchotenjem of Mines, Industry and Technological Development, Sankep Angeline of Labour and Social Security, Lukong Tomta Ernestine Tatah of Arts and culture, Akechui  Thomas Tamukum of Housing and Urban Development, Njeba Kenneth Karawa of Economic Planning and Regional Development, Kelly Nee Nchia Victorrine Sih of Youth Affairs, Moki Ngando Emmanuel of water and Energy, Daniel Ndzinga Awa of scientific Research and innovation, Bollo Emvoutou William of the Customs Sector, and Motsou saa Josue Raymond of social Affairs.

Ngwe Abednego Regional Delegate of transport was present at the ceremony but was not officially installed for reasons yet to be known to the press. He was amongst those recently appointed.
